The Miss Earth Australia quest approaches its final month and prospective entries from the Filipino-Australian community have yet to join the competition.
Almost 50 contestants have signed up from across Australia but not one has come from our Filipino community, according to quest founder and organiser Maria James.
The Miss Earth Australia 2012 finals and pageant will be held at the North Sydney Leagues Club, at 7pm on September 8.
”It would be sad if we won’t have at least one Filipina [to join the] contest, at least from Sydney where most migrant families from the Philippines now make their home,” Ms James said.
Ms James is now making an urgent call for entries from the Filipino-Australian community in Sydney. ”Surely we must have many attractive young ladies with genuine concerns about the earth’s environment,” she said.
