A baby girl in France has been found living in the boot of her parents’ car, where she was hidden for almost two years since her birth.
The little girl, aged between 15 and 23 months, was found by mechanics when her mother brought a Peugeot 307 for repairs to a garage in Terrasson, in central France.
Police said one of the mechanics heard “bizarre noises, like moans” coming from the car boot.
The mother, 45, a Portuguese woman known only as Rose-Marie, claimed the noises came from “toys”.
But the men insisted on opening the boot and were horrified to find a small, dehydrated and feverish child lying naked in its own excrement. Paramedics were called and she was immediately taken to hospital.

The girl’s mother and her partner, a 40-year-old unemployed builder also of Portuguese origin, were arrested and charged on Sunday with child abuse and endangering a minor.
The child has no birth certificate and apparently no name. The girl’s height and weight do not conform to her age. (Source: The Telegraph)
