PM wants to sack 2,000 nurses from public hospitals

If someone said we should sack more than 2,000 nurses a year from our public hospitals, I’d tell them they’re dreaming. Yet that’s what Malcolm Turnbull is essentially doing to our public hospitals. He’s cutting the equivalent of 2000 nurses a year from 2017-2019.

But it gets worse the longer Turnbull has his hands on our public hospitals. Turnbull’s sneaky and unfair 2018 budget revealed that he’s also cutting $2.8 billion from our public hospitals between 2020 and 2025.

Malcolm Turnbull is so out of touch he is happy to cut from our public hospitals to help fund his $80 billion tax handout to big business. It’s the wrong priority.

Labor will fully reverse Turnbull’s $2.8 billion worth of hospital cuts as well as funding 500,000 more life-saving MRI scans through Medicare. We can’t wait until the next Labor government is in office to undo the damage done, we need to act now.

We’re building a campaign team to ramp up the pressure on Malcolm Turnbull. If there’s overwhelming public opposition to his health cuts, he’ll be forced to dump them.
