Kings too strong for Hoopdreamz Jets

Mt. Druitt. September 23, 2010. All tickets were sold out during the showdown of the Sydney Kings and Hoopdreamz Jets at the Kevin Bets Stadium in Mt. Druitt. It was a comfortable win for the Kings who delivered a score of 94 versus the Jets’ 74.

Damien Ryan led the way with 19 points including five 3 pointers. He was supported by Julian Khazzouh with 12 points and Taj McCullough with 11. Luke Cooper was all over the hard court and finished with 10 for the purple and gold.

Despite the defeat of his team, Hoopdreamz founder and CEO Marco Selorio, was nevertheless thrilled during the match. “It’s really been a big night for us.” he said. “The community has come out to support the Kings and hopefully the rest of Western Sydney will get out to watch the Kings in their first game back in Sydney on October 16.” – Selorio added.

The night was a celebration of basketball, a sport that is virtually a religion in the Filipino community..

Many community leaders were in attendance, which contributed to a festive atmosphere in the stadium. Both teams put on a quality show for the appreciative fans. (From a report by Mac Mcquade, Sydney Kings website) ?
